Make those beautiful eyes pop! Brow and Lash tinting darkens the fine, lighter hairs/lashes, allowing them to appear fuller and more defined. Most return every 4-8 weeks for touch-ups and can be maximized by following our What To Expect guide.
Brow & Lash Tinting | A non-invasive way to enhance and define your existing brow hairs by using a semi-permanent dye, darkening those more fine, lighter brow hairs. Help fill the gaps where lighter hairs aren’t as visible to create a fuller and natural look with more definition. Different from microblading, which is a semi-permanent tattoo, brow tinting is more temporary but carries less risk. There are plenty of factors that can cause natural brows to fade or become sparse over time, primarily due to aging, environmental changes, and fluctuations in hormone levels, including when going through menopause. Tinting can help make your brows/lashes appear fuller and more defined.
Brow & Lash Tinting | Enjoy the appearance of fuller, more defined brows/lashes without the risk and commitment of microblading. Not just for fair-haired, even dark brunettes have finer, lighter hairs that can be amped up. Those that can benefit are anyone with thinning or faded brows/lashes, have over 30% gray hair, unpigmented brows/lashes, or those needing to lighten hair that too dark. Others might attribute thinning eyebrows to nutrient deficiencies, or thyroid and autoimmune issues, so those with diseases such as eczema, psoriasis, and any other inflammatory condition can also affect brow growth. Over-plucking, or treatments like chemotherapy can also affect lashes and brows, which tinting can provide the benefits you need. If your eyebrow thinning seems drastic, it’s best to consult your doctor or dermatologist.
Brow & Lash Tinting | While safer than microblading, tinting will fade faster and and requires future visit to maintain your desired look… It’s not a one-and-done deal. Even though it’s low maintenance, it still requires some upkeep. Brow/Lash dyeing can be harsh on the skin underneath and gets into the hair follicle, causing possible shedding and damage over time. Try to keep the follicle clean of products to allow and promote a healthy hair follicle. The dyes used in eyebrow tinting are not approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and it’s possible to have a reaction to the dye, so we can test a small patch 24 hours before if you request or are concerned about a possible allergic reaction. It’s recommended to not tint too often. Those wanting lash tinting that have watery eyes, active hay-fever, any eye infection or reaction to the patch test, the treatment must be avoided.
Tinting | Tinting typically lasts between three to six weeks, more or less. Your brows will be cleaned and a layer of petroleum jelly, like Vaseline, will typically be applied around them to prevent skin staining where not intended. Next, the dye is mixed, applied, then removed after a few minutes. The whole process typically takes about 15 minutes. We will create a customized tint, taking into account hair tone, any highlights, skin tone, and the underlying color of the brows. The tint is applied over the area, being sure to capture all the lighter hairs to bring them up in contrast. Once the tint is removed, your brows/lashes will be shaped and finished with a nourishing gel or special moisturizer. If your skin becomes irritated, use a calming solution or cream can be used. Apply a cool, damp compress on the area to soothe it and put aloe vera, Aquaphor or Vaseline above or below your eyebrow area to protect the skin. The average client comes in every 4-8 weeks for a touch-up. If you work out with heavy sweating, you might need to touch up more frequently. A key factor to keep in mind to ensure a longer-lasting tint is to avoid applying heavy oils or creams onto your brows and cleansing with a gel versus an oil cleanser the first 24 hours after tinting. To extend the results of a lash tint, avoid any harsh skincare products and sun exposure. The sun has a bleaching effect as with chlorine water, so wear shades and goggles to prevent fading and use a gentler makeup remover. Contact lenses should be removed before your treatment. We recommend using a lash serum to stimulate growth and maintain the condition of your lashes.
